Offline loop recording
Record in 1, 3, or 5-minute clips with a 10, 20, or 40 GB storage budget. Older unlocked footage is recycled to make room. Recording works without internet.
Protect important clips
Lock footage manually or use automatic impact detection to protect neighboring clips from recycling. Detection cannot identify every incident, and protected clips are not a backup.
Your camera, your quality
Choose the front or rear camera and SD, HD, or Full HD video. Review your clips on your iPhone, then share selected footage or save it to Photos.
Optional audio & location
Audio and location recording are off by default. Opt in to add sound or burn speed and location into video. Street-name lookup can send coordinates to Apple.
Start recording on power
Enable the option to start when power is connected and the camera screen is active and ready. Unplugging keeps an existing recording running. The app must remain open.
Driver Focus mode
Dim the screen after 20 seconds of inactivity while recording. Set up your phone in a suitable mount before driving, and keep your attention on the road.

Three steps to using your iPhone as a dash cam.
Set up while parked
Mount your iPhone securely, open CabinCam, and allow camera access. Choose your camera, quality, clip length, and storage budget.
Start your recording
Tap record before driving, or enable Start recording on power with the camera screen active and ready. Keep CabinCam in the foreground and your phone unlocked.
Review when safely stopped
Find your clips in the library, protect the ones you want to keep, and choose what to share or save to Photos. Export important footage for a separate copy.
Recording stops when you leave the app or lock your phone. Resume it explicitly when you return. Heat, battery level, and available storage can also limit recording.

Can I use my iPhone as a dash cam?
Yes. CabinCam uses your iPhone’s front or rear camera for dash cam recording with reusable clips and on-device storage. Set it up before you drive; the app must stay open in the foreground to record.
Does CabinCam work offline?
Video recording works without internet, an account, or cloud storage. Optional street-name lookup may need a connection and can send coordinates to Apple. Missing location data does not block video recording.
Does it record with the screen locked or in the background?
No. On iOS, recording stops when you lock the phone or leave the foreground. Return to CabinCam and explicitly start recording again. Driver Focus dims the screen while keeping the app open.
Are my recordings uploaded automatically?
The CabinCam iPhone app has no automatic uploads, analytics, or cloud-sync feature. You choose when to share clips or save them to Photos. Destination apps and Photos may sync exported copies under your own settings.
What happens when storage fills up?
Loop recording recycles the oldest unlocked clips within your chosen storage budget. Protected clips are excluded from recycling. Recording can stop when free space is insufficient or only protected clips remain.
